Make sure you have the following items ready:
Carefully pull the old seal away from the door. If it's held in place by screws, remove them first. Be careful not to damage the door or holder.
Use a clean cloth to wipe the area where the seal will be installed. If there's any dirt or grime, use a mild detergent to clean it.
If the new seal is stiff or has creases, you can soften it by placing it in warm water for a few minutes or using a hair dryer on low heat.
Start at one corner and work your way around the door, pressing the seal into the holder. Make sure it sits evenly and there are no gaps.
If your seal uses screws, reattach them. Close the door and check for any gaps or areas that don't seal correctly.
Close the door and try to slide a piece of paper between the seal and the fridge. If it slides out easily, the seal may not be correctly installed.
Check your measurements again and make sure you ordered the correct size. If it's still too tight, you can try warming it up to make it more flexible.
Check that the seal is correctly seated in the holders. You may need to adjust it or use a small amount of adhesive to secure it.
Make sure the seal isn't caught in the door hinge or another part of the fridge. Adjust the seal as needed.
